John,
You are an astute reader: this was very much a personal piece and continues to be my therapy, even to this day. The metaphor of the bracelet "singed" to me is as true as it was when I left-- siempre habra un pedazo de argentina en mi corazon. There will always be a piece of Argentina in my heart.

  Thanks for reading,
     Emily

Wow, this is really interesting. There's clearly a lot personal going on here, and that gets conveyed well. In the end I think this is what makes it a good piece: it feels like it's written for your own sake in coming to terms with this nostalgia, and for that reason the writing becomes so much more real for a reader. It seems therapeutic for you, and I as a reader am interested in experiencing this along with you.

Thanks for sharing,
John

[...] North x Midwest will be the first time the band will play as a foursome since December, since Dave Shepherd lives in Philly. In addition to NxMW, Matt and Dave play the occasional house party as a duo , or, recently, with Tyler to “stay relevant” as Matt puts it. When asked about future concert goals, New Zealand is their dream venue, especially for Matt who would “love to play for my family and all the people back home.” Japan was also listed as a “cool place to play.” [...]

[...] RIVKA has already performed at number of venues, traveling to Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and even Miami; however, their favorite venue is the Beach House right here in their hometown. They will be playing a VIA show in early March at Assemble, opening for Prince Rama, but you can see them even earlier at Garfield Artworks on February 10, where they will perform primarily new material at The Original’s fundraiser, North x Midwest.
Hey Jason! Sounds like my kind of place! Never having visited New Orleans, other than vicariously through episodes of Treme, this sounds like a great restaurant with authentic atmosphere and cuisine. Enjoyed reading your review :~) Linda
